Does this sound like you?

Does this sound like you?

  • Do you find genuine joy in analysing data and uncovering the story within it, and do you have a solid grounding in quantitative research methods to back that up?
  • Do you do your best work as part of a close-knit team, and feel comfortable navigating the pace and complexity that come with international client projects?
  • And does the potential path to grow towards leading your own projects for major global clients in financial services and enterprise technology excite you?

Then join our Berlin team!

Why Join Us?

Factworks is a boutique quantitative research firm. We work with the world's leading financial services, technology and media companies on the research challenges that genuinely matter to them: pricing strategy, segmentation, customer experience and loyalty. The methods we use, including choice-based conjoint analysis, advanced segmentation and large-scale trackers, are technically demanding and highly custom, and our clients trust us with their most important and complex research challenges.

We are a team of roughly 65 people across Berlin, Silicon Valley and Bangalore. Our academic backgrounds span psychology, business administration and economics, statistics, engineering and the social sciences. Being a trusted partner is at the heart of what we do. We hold ourselves to high standards and are passionate about delivering excellence for our clients. At the same time, we foster an open and motivating environment where new ideas and fresh perspectives are always welcome.

Joining us means:

  • A structured introduction to quantitative research at a level of methodological depth that is rare in the industry
  • Exposure from the start to real client challenges from major global financial services, technology and media companies
  • A collaborative, intellectually curious team that takes the work seriously without being hierarchical about it
  • Genuine flexibility in how you work, alongside the expectation that you are present and engaged when it matters
  • The potential to grow towards a project lead role, supported by active investment in your development along the way

What You'll Bring

The core requirements:

  • A Master's degree (or PhD) in a quantitatively oriented discipline: business, economics, psychology, statistics or a related field
  • Solid statistical and methodological grounding: a strong foundation in statistics, quantitative research methods and mathematical reasoning. You are comfortable with the underlying logic of what the numbers are doing, not just running them through software
  • Clear, structured output creation: you can translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights and visualisations that a non-technical audience can follow easily
  • AI tool literacy: you use tools like Claude or ChatGPT for drafting, structuring and sense-checking, you can write effective prompts, and you apply sound judgement about where AI genuinely helps and where it does not
  • Strong working habits: you keep your work easy to follow, with well-documented files, clear naming conventions, and project steps that others can pick up without needing additional explanation
  • Hands-on experience with quantitative data: cleaning, processing and digging into datasets to extract meaningful findings. This is work you enjoy and are eager to do more of
  • Domain curiosity: you have a genuine interest in financial services and technology industries and a desire to build domain knowledge on the job
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken): this is our working language across all offices and client communications
  • Office tools: you are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace

Additionally useful:

  • Practical experience in a professional environment such as an internship, research assistant role or consulting engagement — particularly within financial services
  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data wrangling and automation, beyond standard statistical software
  • Experience running a full research project from design through to reporting
  • Some familiarity with survey platforms (Decipher/Forsta, Qualtrics or similar)
  • German language skills are a plus, but not required

What You'll Do

We are looking for a Junior Market Research Consultant to join our Berlin team. You will be embedded in live client projects from the start, working closely with data to support the delivery of compelling, actionable research.

The role is analytically focused at entry level: data processing, analysis, interpretation and preparing the output that underpins our client presentations. Over time, you will take on more of the project management dimensions of the role, with a clear path towards a project leading position for those who develop the skills, client knowledge and ambition to get there.

In practice, this means:

  • Work closely with quantitative datasets: cleaning, processing, running frequencies, building analysis files and identifying patterns that matter
  • Prepare chart output and visualisations for client-facing presentations, translating analytical findings into clear, structured stories
  • Support survey programming and fieldwork management across ad-hoc and tracking studies
  • Collaborate with project leads on study design, questionnaire development and interpretation of results
  • Use AI tools as part of day-to-day work for drafting, structuring and sense-checking, while applying sound judgement about outputs
  • Gradually take ownership of individual project phases, with the potential to move into full project management as your skills, industry and client knowledge develop
